The Unfinished Story for Youth Information
Introduction
The Unfinished Story for Youth (TUSfY) is a five‑session, video‑based course created to help young believers develop a solid biblical worldview and discover that following Jesus includes joining Him in His mission. The course gives students a big-picture look at God’s work in the world—biblically, historically, strategically, and culturally—so they can see where they fit in His global story.
As youth engage with the material, they’ll begin to understand how their lives fit into God’s Story and how He invites them to participate in what He’s doing among all peoples. By the end, they’ll see that God’s redemptive mission is central to why we’re here—and that they have an important role to play.
Content
TUSfY explores five themes:
God's Story – We discover the story arc of the Bible--God's redemptive blessing towards humans; and, as disciples of Jesus Christ, our mandate to participate in carrying that blessing to others.
Christianity as a Movement – Momentum and movement are explored--what builds and what diminishes it? What can we learn from our history?
The Task Remaining – Once we know what has been accomplished we can turn our eyes to what remains in God's redemptive mission.
Discipling Nations – How does where we're from and how we think need to be understood so that we can share Jesus' love with people from elsewhere who think differently?
Our Journey on Mission - What will look different tomorrow as a result of what we have discovered in this course? Are you ready?
Learning methods and activities
TUSfY is a small group course that uses:
- Dynamic teaching videos
- Small group interatcion
- Short readings and personal reflections
- Prayer for Least Reached Peoples
- Large group activities
Format
TUSfY can be conducted using several formats:
- One evening a week for 5 weeks; each session is about 90 minutes
- Weekend retreat - but build in enough space for fun, food, other activities, and internal processing.
- Other flexible formats to suit the needs of the participants
